Erik Forehand - Boys' Head Coach

The 2021 season marks Coach Forehand’s second year as head coach of the boys’ cross country team.
Coach Forehand served as an assistant coach on the boys’ cross country team from 2017-2019.
Before coaching at the Crown Point High School, Forehand coached cross country and track and field at Colonel John Wheeler Middle School with fellow Indiana State Cross Country/Track and Field alumni, Joe Betz. From 2007-2017 the boys track and field teams won 11 conference championships, winning four conference championships in cross country. Forehand is entering his 14th year teaching Health and Physical Education at Colonel John Wheeler Middle School.
Forehand graduated from Indiana State University in 2007 with a degree in Physical Education. While at Indiana State, he competed on both the cross country and track and field teams under the leadership of Hall of Fame coach, John McNichols. Forehand was a member of the 2005 and 2006 cross country teams, both of which finished 1st in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Forehand grew up in Remington, Indiana, where he attended Tri-County High School from 1998-2002. While at Tri-County, he was a member of the cross country and track and field teams under the leadership of Richard Kochert, who was recently inducted into the Indiana Track and Field/Cross Country Hall of Fame.
With 25 years of experience as both an athlete and coach at various levels, Forehand is excited to share his passion and knowledge of cross country with his athletes.
Philosophy: I hope to inspire personal growth in each student-athlete through the numerous opportunities I am fortunate to provide. Mold a group of individuals who value a strong work ethic both in and out of the classroom. Who appreciate the importance of being responsible, caring, committed, and trusting. Who respectfully hold themselves and their teammates accountable. I will continue to educate myself on the sport of cross country while learning and growing from the experiences I share with those around me.
Keith Iddings - Boys' Assistant Coach
The 2021 season will be Coach Iddings first year as an assistant coach of the Crown Point High School boys’ cross country team. Coach Iddings served as the team’s head coach for 23 years, from 1997-2019. He was also an assistant boys’ track & field coach from 1997-2004 at CPHS and was the head coach from 2005-2020.
Before coaching at CPHS, Coach Iddings coached football and wrestling for five years at Taft Junior High School here in Crown Point.
Coach Iddings graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics with a minor in Science. He began teaching 7th grade math & 8th grade science at Taft in 1992. Coach Iddings transferred teaching positions to Crown Point High School in 1994 where he currently teaches Algebra II and Geometry.
Coach Iddings grew up in Northwest Indiana. He ran track and field at Morton Middle School, Morton High School, & Crown Point High School. He graduated from Crown Point High School in 1981 after which he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Sergeant Iddings served on active duty for eight years. He left the Marines in 1989 to go to college to become a teacher. While in college Sergeant Iddings joined the Illinois Army National Guard for three years.
Coach Iddings has been involved in the sport of running since 1976 when he joined the school track and field team. He is excited to be an assistant coach for Coach Forehand & to share his love of the sport with the team. Coach Iddings is blessed to reside in Crown Point with his wife, Debbie. They are blessed with two daughters, Elizabeth and Rebecca, & their husbands, Kyle & Ethan. They are also blessed with four grandchildren, Hudson, Annabelle, Cecilia, & Sawyer.
Seth Aydt - Boys' Assistant Coach
The 2020 season will be Coach Aydt’s 3rd as an assistant coach of the boy’s cross country team.
Aydt graduated from Indiana State University in 2005, with a degree in Sport Management and Business Administration. During his time at ISU, he competed on the cross country and track & field teams under the leadership of Hall of Fame coach, John McNichols. He was a member of the 2005 men’s cross country team that finished 1st in Missouri Valley Conference.
Aydt grew up in Owensville, IN, and attended Gibson Southern High School from 1997-2001. He was a member of the cross country, and track & field programs lead by the late Alan Hopewell. During his junior cross country season, he helped the Titans qualify for the IHSAA state cross country meet for the 1st time in school history. Aydt was a 3x state qualifier in cross country and 4x state qualifier in track.
Aydt has over 25 years of running experience at various levels. He is excited to continue working with the team and share his passion for the sport. Coach Aydt and his wife, Courtney, reside in Crown Point with their children, Brandon and Brittany.
Rob Lukowski - Girls' Head Coach
The 2021 season marks the beginning of Coach Lukowski’s tenure at Crown Point High School, where he will serve as the Girls’ Head Coach.
Coach Lukowski has previously served as head coach of Highland High Schools’ boys cross country team from 2014-2020, Highlands’ girls cross country team from 2016-2020, and Calumet High School head cross country coach for both boys and girls cross country teams from 2010-2013.
Before coaching cross country, Lukowski coached football, volleyball, wrestling, and basketball. Still, his longest-tenured coaching role has been in track & field, where he has served several different high schools in both Indiana and Illinois for the past 21 years.
Lukowski is a graduate of Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, where in 2000, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in History. While at Millikin, he competed on both the football and track & field teams. Lukowski also received a degree in education (M.A.) from Concordia University in River Forest, IL. Lukowski is a 1996 graduate of Mount Carmel High School in Chicago, IL, where he was a state qualifier in both track & field and a state runner-up in football.
With 35+ years of experience as both an athlete and coach at various levels, Coach Lukowski is ready to share his expertise and love of running with the Crown Point community.
Philosophy: My number one goal as a coach is to mentor young people to grow into the best possible community members that they can be; running is simply the delivery system. I hope to bring enthusiasm and passion for the sport of competitive distance running and use it to help mold a group of young individuals into a cohesive unit that learns to work together, laugh together and positively represent our community.
Collen Ogren - Girls' Assistant Coach
The 2021 season marks Coach Ogey's 4th year as assistant coach for the girls cross country team. In addition to cross country, she has coached girls track and field for the past 5 seasons.
Coach Ogey started her coaching career in the spring of 2018 as a volunteer coach while fulfilling her Masters of Science in Sports Administration at Valparaiso University. Prior to coaching at Crown Point, she graduated from Saint Mary's College (Notre Dame, Indiana) in 2017. There she was a varsity cross country runner for four years while earning a bachelor's degree in Psychology.
Coach Ogey grew up in Munster, Indiana and graduated from Munster High School in 2013. She was a four year participant in cross country and track and field. With experience in both coaching and Sports Psychology, Coach Ogey loves to challenge athletes to be their best both physically and mentally.
Philosophy: My goal is to provide student-athletes with practical resources to guide them to success. Through years of personal experience, I believe that cross country and running in general creates special relationships that last a lifetime. With the challenges, successes, trials, and victories comes great life lessons and personality development. My hope is to help these student-athletes make cross country their favorite place to learn, thrive, and grow.
Ryan Gardner - Girls' Assistant Coach
The 2021 season marks Coach Ryan's 3rd year as an assistant coach with the girls cross country team. Prior to coaching cross country, Coach Ryan served as an assistant football coach for Munster High School from 2011-2018.
Coach Ryan graduated from Purdue Northwest in 2015 with a bachelors degree in History. He later completed a teaching certificate in Elementary Education at Calumet College of St. Joseph. Coach Ryan currently teaches 5th grade at Eisenhower Elementary in Crown Point. Coach Ryan grew up in Munster, Indiana and graduated from Munster High School in 2011. He participated in high school football for four years.
Coach Ryan brings years of experience in coaching high school student-athletes. He is excited to start another season with the team, create more memories, and pass out more candy.
Philosophy: My goal is to help facilitate an environment where student-athletes can safely workout, create friendships, and have a good time through hard work. I believe it's important for our athletes to find cross country to be an outlet and learning tool to become a good friend and teammate. I want student-athletes to enjoy working as a team to achieve their goals on and off the course.
